DofE Awards Evening

On the 8th December, the School held its annual Duke of Edinburgh Award Evening, where the 35 young people who completed either their Bronze or Silver Award were invited to receive their certificate and badge.  It was a fantastic evening, where some of the students also showcased their skills learnt through their DofE by either performing or displaying their projects.

The evening also recognised the social benefit to our local area that our students have made through their volunteering.  The School was presented with a certificate acknowledging the 578 hours of volunteering that took place last year, which would have equated to over £2150 if paid at the minimum wage.

Congratulations to all those who’ve received their award.

Dragons Den Comes to Bromfords

This term year 11 Business students had an opportunity to set up and run their own business.  This involved attendance in an after school club where the students would plan the business, conduct market research, prepare a pricing strategy and marketing materials.  The students then had an opportunity to sell their products in school on 28 and 29 November.  The young entrepreneurs considered the target market and filled a gap in the market by providing individually made personalised milkshakes, cookies, donuts and chocolates treats.  Unsurprisingly they did very well!
