Abacus Science Day

On Friday 11th November 25 Year 5 and 6 student from Abacus Primary School visited The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College to spend the day in the Science Department.

Anti-Bullying Ambassadors Meet Celebrities

On 14 November, students from The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College attended the yearly conference which was held this year at Alexandra Palace in London.

Over 300 young Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, aged 7-18 from schools across the UK, came together at a Cyber Giant sponsored event to inspire and support young people to creatively explore bullying issues through; YouTube, poetry, drama, singing, photography, rap, graffiti art and public speaking – all led by celebrities.

Dora Love Prize 2016-17

On 22nd September 2016 ten year 9 pupils, Cydnee-Rose, Natasha, Jessica, Emily, Brendan, Mia, Mitchell, Emily, Ehsan, Aman, visited the University of Essex for the introduction of the Dora Love Prize 2016-17. Dora Love was a Jewish survivor of Stutthof concentration camp, who died in October 2011, she spent her life speaking up against hatred and ensuring people remembered the importance of the Holocaust.

England Handball's Josh da Silva pens professional deal

Congratulations to Josh da Silva, ex Bromfords student, who has just been given a professional Handball contract in Portugal. Josh left Bromfords in 2015, achieving Distinction* Distinction* in his BTEC sports studies. One of the first cohorts through Bromfords to participate in Handball, Josh helped the school and Essex through to National finals, and took his personal playing career on further outside of the school. We at Bromfords are very proud of Josh for his success so far and hope to see even more in the future.

MacMillan Cake Morning

The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College would like to say a HUGE thank you to students, parents and staff, who supported the 2016 MacMillan Cake Morning held on Friday 30th September.  Miss Abbie Cullen, who organised the event, said she was overwhelmed by the generous and imaginative donations and was pleased to announce that a record breaking £477 was raised for MacMillan Cancer Support.

Jack Petchey Awards Evening

On the 21st September 7 students attended the Jack Petchey Awards evening to collect their medallions from the Jack Petchey Foundation and be recognised publically for their outstanding achievements over the past year.
