Anti-Bullying Ambassadors Excel!
Since September, The Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, have had a very proactive role within The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College.
The group of 30 students, range from Year 7 to Year 13 and are led by Karen Ruck (Student Engagement Co-ordinator) and Kelly Hoyland (Year 9 Pastoral Manager).
Each month meetings are held which enables the group to catch up, spend a lunch time together discussing issues and events to help promote the Ambassadors around the school community.
2016 SEND Ambassadors
The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College are very proud to announce that both Sonny and Holly have become SEND Ambassadors for our school.
Over the last 6 months Sonny and Holly have made significant contributions to the school in particular to the SEND Department. At that start of May they delivered teacher training to all staff. Sonny on “how to teach students with cerebral palsy” and Holly on “how to teach students with speech and language difficulties”. The feedback from the teaching staff was outstanding. Miss Clark saying it was wonderful training and Miss Cullen commenting that the whole session was incredibly helpful and gave a great opportunity to have a truly open forum where we could talk about individual needs.
Sixth Form Congratulations!
Sixth Form students this year have had the opportunity to participate and graduated from the National Citizenship Service Programme receiving a certificate from the Prime Minister, David Cameron. NCS is a work-based activity and a chance to embark on exhilarating challenges. Students undertake a residential programme with students nationally, undertake extensive voluntary work and organise an event/project. The programme costs £50 with the Government subsidising £1000.
