School Trip to the Royal Veterinary College

Walking up to the building, we found it difficult to get into the zone of actually learning anything after being trapped on a coach with Miss Opara, insisting on trying to sing acapella.

Instead of finding an old dishevelled building, our eyes were filled with the sights of a newly refurbished one. On entering the university, we were greeted by a welcoming, open, sitting area. We sat down and were introduced to our guide for the day, Isi, who told us about the day’s activities.

Then it began. The day was split into two sections; discovering the practice of veterinary science through bandaging soft toys, and identifying bone specimens, helped by the Head of Anatomy - Andrew.

Bromfords Business Students visit Coca Cola Enterprises

The year 12 Business students visited Coca Cola Enterprises manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes. This gave the students the chance to see just in time production in action as well as the engineering feat which enables Coca Cola, Monster, Capri Sun and Smart water all to be made and bottled in the same premises.  The students also found out how Coca Cola Enterprises approached their marketing mix, how market research impacted this and how the business always had to consider external factors.

Basildon Council Young Entrepreneur Competition

Ten Year 10 Business students represented Bromfords at the recent Basildon Council Young Entrepreneur Competition. The aim of the programme was to engage these students in a challenging and competitive entrepreneurial environment which will give them a real insight into some of the skills and requirements of setting up in business.

Silver DofE

Over the 16th-18th April 9 of our year 10 students completed their practice expedition for their silver Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Charity Fundraising

Bromfords are proud of Year 9 student Tom who recently raised over £1,000 for the Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

Sports Relief 2016

As always, The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College have been doing their bit to raise money for Sports Relief.

Joe Craig Visit

Children’s author Joe Craig visited The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College to link in with World Book Day.  Joe talked to Year 7 students about his writing and ran a workshop with a group of students to encourage them with their own writing skills.
