Homework plays a key part in the learning process and improving student progress.  We appreciate your support in ensuring that your child completes the homework they have been set in accordance with the guidelines below.

Year 9, 10 and 11 Homework

As subjects begin GCSE courses in year 9 the expectation regarding homework increases.

Each subject will set one piece of homework per week.

Students will be set work to a timetable agreed between themselves and their subject teachers.  Students should record in their planner when their homework is being set and use this to help manage their own workload.

Students and parents will find a more detailed outline of homework on show my homework.

Year 12 and 13 Homework

Students will be set work to a timetable agreed between themselves and their subject teachers.  Students should record in their planner when their homework is being set and use this to help manage their own workload.

Generally, each student should study their chosen subjects for as much time outside the classroom as they are taught inside it. This should mean four hours of study. Staff will direct part of this study time as ‘homework’ by setting assignments, coursework etc.  The study centre is to be used during the day to complete assigned work and homework tasks.
