A2 & Vocational Results, 2023

We would like to congratulate our Year 13 students on their examination results. Numerous individual success stories abound, with many students securing places at universities across the country, pursuing diverse fields of study, or stepping into apprenticeships and employment. These results underscore our dedication to preparing students not only for academic success but also for the challenges and opportunities of the future.

“We are immensely proud of our students for their outstanding achievements in this year’s A Level and vocational examinations,” said Jochen Tree, Headteacher. “Their results reflect their resilience and perseverance, the support of their families, and the work of our staff.”

The impact of the pandemic meant that once again, this summer’s exams were the first external assessments our students took since their Key Stage 2 SATS in Year 6. As such, comparisons with previous outcomes nationally and locally lack any validity. As a school, however, we are celebrating our students being accepted into university, college or into an apprenticeship/employment and wish everyone a successful and happy future.

GCSE & equivalent results, 2023

Against a backdrop of disruption to their education in each of the past four years, the commitment and resilience of our students has seen a set of results that improve on the school’s outcomes from 2022 and 2019. OFQUAL, the exams regulator, has stated that a return to pre-pandemic grading means this year’s national GCSE results in England will be lower than last year and similar to levels in 2019 – the year before the pandemic.

Jochen Tree, Headteacher, commented “We are immensely proud of our students and their accomplishments in this year’s examinations. These results are a testament to the collaborative efforts of the students, their parents and carers alongside the staff here at Bromfords. Our young people, equipped with skills and knowledge, are now ready for their next steps, be that in our own Sixth Form or elsewhere.”

Emma Huet, Director of Key Stage 4, added “I echo the words of Mr Tree with how proud we are of all our Year 11 students.  There have been some challenging individual circumstances for students and they have shown that with a positive attitude and hard work, you can achieve great things.  We wish you all the best of luck with your next chapter in education.”

Amongst the high-achieving students were Ryan Owers who achieved eight x grade 9, a Distinction and a grade 7; Oliver Rich who achieved four x grade 9, 2 x grade 8, 2 x grade 7 and 2 x grade 6 and Owen Harlow who achieved a grade 9, 2 x grade 8, 5 x grade 7 and 2 x grade 6.
