A2 & Vocational Results, 2018
Students and staff at The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College are once again delighted to be celebrating some outstanding A Level and BTEC examination results. Provisional indications suggest that our overall value added score will be significantly better than last year and above national average, equally pleasing are that an impressive 46% of the grades achieved were A*- B. This figure represents the best the school has achieved in recent years.
Head teacher Martin Coulson commented:
“We are delighted with our A-Level and BTEC results this year and are immensely proud of the achievements of all of our students. At a time when Key Stage 5 programmes nationally have been subject to significant change, our students have had to work especially hard over two years to return such excellent outcomes. Students and staff have risen to this challenge remarkably well and returned results that do themselves, and their school, great credit. We are delighted to see so many of our students succeeding in gaining access to their first choice destination next year, whether this is at university, a professional apprenticeship or the workplace.
I would like to congratulate a terrific group of students, their families and their teachers who have all worked so hard to achieve these results. We all share their pride and excitement as they embark on the next phase of their lives and would also like to thank them for their contribution to school life during their time with us.”

GCSE & equivalent results, 2017
The 2017 summer exam season saw students at The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College sitting the new Grade 9-1 GCSEs for the first time in English and mathematics. In both English and mathematics we were delighted to see an increase in the number of students achieving a pass at level 4 or above (the equivalent of A*-C last year). We were also delighted to see an increase in the number of overall passes at both level 7-9/A*-A and level 4-7/A*-C. The 9-1 grades that students have achieved in English and mathematics (and the A*-G grades for their other subjects) will be used by the Department of Education to calculate Attainment 8 and Progress 8 figures for all schools. These will be available at some time in the Autumn term.
