GCSE Results Day 2024

Year 11 students received a warm welcome as they returned to Bromfords to collect their GCSE Results. Despite the media warning of lower grades as a hangover from lost learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, and the disruption in the Autumn Term caused by the presence of RAAC in key areas of the school, overall attainment was a further improvement on the school’s 2023 outcomes.

Headteacher Jochen Tree said, “While exams were sat as normal this year, the reality is that our students have experienced years of disruption – posing many challenges for them and their teachers. For these students, there has not been a single “normal” year at secondary school – yet they have not received any moderation or allowances in exam marking. It is clear this year’s cohort have undoubtedly faced significant hardship. We are very proud of their resilience and determination as the students themselves should be. Our Year 11 students have been a real credit to our school and many of the individual achievements have been tremendous. Well done to the Class of 2024.”
