Students from years 7 to 12 visited parliament today and were given a tour of the house of commons and lords. Our highlight was seeing the 23-carat golden throne which the King sits upon for the state opening of parliament, with a beany chair in front of it on which the lord speaker sits. This made us all giggle a lot!
We then enjoyed a sunny lunch outside Buckingham palace with some bonus entertainment from a royal marching band.
