Numeracy skills are crucial for improving employment prospects, enhancing life opportunities, and achieving success. Many decisions we make in life rely on numerical information, so having strong numerical skills is essential for making informed choices.

At The Bromfords School, we promote numeracy by incorporating it across all subjects in the curriculum. We believe that every member of our community is a teacher of numeracy, contributing to the development of these vital skills.

Our Maths department has created a specialised program that runs alongside regular Maths lessons throughout each student’s time at The Bromfords School. In Years 7, 8, and 9, students practice and strengthen their numeracy skills once a week during form time.

To further ease the transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3, some students receive an additional hour of instruction with a numeracy specialist, allowing them to deepen their understanding of numerical skills.

Across Key Stages 3 and 4, we have an in-house numeracy specialist who provides regular enrichment sessions for small, select groups of students. Each session is tailored to address the specific areas where each student needs development within the group.
