SEND
At The Bromfords School, every teacher is a teacher of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We fully adhere to the national SEND Code of Practice: 0 - 25 and follow Essex’s ‘Ordinarily Available’ and Targeted Support approach.
The Bromfords School strongly advocates a holistic whole-school approach to ‘making a difference’ for students with SEND. It is our mission to address those needs but also to identify and nurture students with SEND’s interests and talents, challenging as well as empowering every student to prepare them for adulthood. We celebrate the rich diversity of our students with SEND, many of whom are neurodivergent and so approach interaction in unique way.
The Bromfords School has a dedicated team of staff who form our SEND Department, which includes our Autism Enhanced Provision, and deliver a range of interventions and support packages to meet our students; Cognition and Learning / Social, Emotional and Mental Health / Speech, Language and Communication / Sensory and / or Physical needs.
